Man - I once again must ask this question; where do advice columnists like this come from? Go on, click the link. It won't take long.

Now call me a cynic. Call me a idealist. But is this really the way anyone thinks? Tell me, is this guy just ALL KINDS of smarmy? THIS is the kind of person who gives other members of their gender a bad name.

I tell you - you have to go read this article -- 10 Ways to Dump Your Girlfriend. Among his tips: Write her a letter telling her it's just too painful to have a conversation in person. Because facing honest emotional reactions to your causing life changing events in another person's life doesn't merit a little of your time and shouldn't make you uncomfortable. Be honest when you tell her that she's packed on a couple pounds and she's not attractive to you anymore. As if that's grounds for relational dismissal. Or at the least something to be mentioned and discussed in a caring fashion before automatic dumping. Give her a parting gift and call her friends and parents so they don't continue to think you're a loser. Is that like a severance? You're sooo great that she needs something to remember you by forever and ever? Hey buddy! Suck it up. If weight gain is grounds in your mind for breaking up with someone, you ARE a loser. How about giving her the gift of understanding and mutuality rather than a framed photograph of your pug-faced self. It would probably go a lot further in making you look like a decent human being.

Can you believe this guy gets paid to write this stuff? Only on MSN, I tell you, can such insulting superiority complexes get published as advice. I bet he has a unibrow and carries a club. I'm sorry to break the news to you guy - but if that's how you view and treat ANYONE, you probably aren't such a hot catch yourself.

Okay. Calm, calm. I'm sorry. Apparently my issues haven't resolved themselves completely yet. But this guy. GAH. Loser.
