Come All Ye Jesus Freaks

Hey, have you heard the one about the archeologists who've found the ossuary (that's a box that holds bones) of James, brother of Jesus?

Will this rival the Shroud of Turin in terms of now having a modern day saints' relic? What, if this is proven to be authentic, will happen in Jerusalem? What does this mean??

I'm much more speculative in regard to the scientific ramifications of it all though. Apparently there are no bones held within the box, but my imagination runs rampant with "What ifs". What if there were bones in there? What if DNA analyses were run? Would the Shroud be tested for some mitochondrial chromosomal proof of authenticity and definitive evidence of relation between the two men? Would Faith and Science at last make peace? Would people flock to have their own markers matched up against it? And if that were to happen, would we deify the person/s found to be directly descended? Could we kick some 700 Club ass? How many crazies would come from the woodwork to proclaim the end of days? How many agnostics would suddenly Believe? How many atheists? Or for that matter � what about Muslims? Would Muhammad, the Quran, and other religious foundations crumble? And if that happened, how would the destabilization of faith in the Middle East affect their national, regional and world politics/economics? Would all the other religions based on other prophets fade to black? And would people of the Jewish faith at last accept Jesus as their Savior?

But then again, all those questions are quite a number of What Ifs premature. Of course, simply proving that there was a man named James who had a father named Joseph and a brother named Jesus would not necessarily equate to proving the stories about them are true. That Jesus did or did not actually live does not irrefutably confirm that he is or was the Son of God any more than Miss Cleo's fortune telling makes her psychic. But it is an interesting thought to ponder.
