soapboxdiner Wouldn't it be nice if we were . . . Today my little bundle of baby joy turns 14 years old. FOURTEEN. There will be a real life teenage pizza and Wii/X-Box party with many other 14-year-old-type creatures on Saturday. Also new this week, Bro and SIL sat D00d and I down this past Saturday and with much love and affection said, "Get the hell outta our house, man -- Well, this summer. Just some time this summer. Love you!!!" D00d is surprisingly ecstatic. I expected that he would semi-melt from the pressure of having to pay rent on our place while still making payments on the house he and his mother bought and have lived in for the past 14 years while raising Son of D00d, but he's been really excited and a workable budget has been outlined to make it doable. I, on the other hand, started looking for rental homes, discovered that houses in the local rental market are upwards of $1800-$2000/mo, promptly died a little on the inside from the mental implosion. Then I started looking for affordable homes for purchase within the tri-county metro area (then in the rural outlays near the Canadian border) only to discover that we may need to knock off a bank or something. So for now we are back to looking to rent a 3-4 bedroom apartment in Microsoft-burbia Township. You understand my *()@$^$)@#$$!%!$%, I'm sure. But in more upbeat news, Finally and At Last, we'll get to be together every day in Our Very Own Home. 6:08 am - 05.20.10
