Better than Warm Milk

The server at work was taken offline this evening "for 30 minutes" but still isn't back up, now 5.5 hours later.

Secretly? When the server goes down and I lose access to my work email, I panic just a little on the inside. Outlook's like my own little soap opera filled with drama and intrigue, hubris and humiliation all rolled up into one convenient little candy-coated, bite-sized nugget. No calories!

In other news, Barbarians and Angels, which I have been doggedly trying to finish for weeks, goes a little something like this (hit it):

Archeological evidence in fifth century Lundenwic (London) shows wattle and daub construction, pottery shards, evidence of iron working, and glass beads.

Archeological evidence in fifth century Gudme shows wattle and daub construction, pottery shards, evidence of iron working, and glass beads.

... for about 250 pages. God bless America. I was really holding out hope that the book would eventually become interesting.
