I suppose I should post something here, as it's been a gazillion years and the last post was so angry.
Happy Thanksgiving, by the way. Did you enjoy the turkey?
We went to my mother's for the three of the four days of the holiday weekend. It was about 2 days too many. God bless her.
Had some more folks come see the house over the weekend. Ugh, the sink had a dirty plate and coffee cup in it and there was a mountain bike parked on the hard wood in the living room. Oops.
Made many, many dozens of cookies and candies with the family. Brought home a dozen which were promptly eaten.
Friday night, got pulled into the middle of my brother's argument with his wife. Saturday was their one-year anniversary. By Saturday, SIL called crying, "Come get me, your brother just asked for a divorce." "Where are you?" "I don't know. Nevermind."
Ugh. She's coming over tomorrow to put up our fake christmas tree. I guess that means I need to throw out the pumpkin on the front step.
Sigh.
Shh, don't tell anyone this, but I really, really hate the holidays. I especially hate decorating. See, it's not the decorations themselves, but it's the whole hurry hurry, drag out five gazillion boxes of decorations, unpack them, put them on every conceivable surface in your house. Pack away everything else you have out normally for the home decor. Look at the Christmas stuff for four weeks, then wash and repeat.
Stupid.
Oh, well. I've been informed that I will burn in Hell if I do not participate in this silly ritual, and so build lasting and fond memories in the mind of my child.
Feh - stupid.
That, and it's expensive and I'm broke, and I'm forced to either go even broker, or look like a tight-fisted humbug to every last person I know.
Double feh. Stupid, expensive, guilt-inducing and wasteful.
Oh, but I posted a personal ad Wednesday and am now chatting with about 5 guys. I'm so hot, I could kiss myself!
Also, I've decided my job sucks and I don't like it anymore. Stupid job.
